June tea meeting at Robert's house

We had a fun evening at Robert's house for June Tea meeting.  I thank Robert for hosting us.  Next month we will be meeting in Brooklyn, and Joe will be emailing us with information.  I keep forgetting to mention we need to pay for our membership fee of $30.  So please remember to pay next time even if I forget.  Thanks, see you in July.

May Tea Meeting

We had a wonderful May tea meeting. We tasted fresh new 2015 teas. Mrs. Yoon Miok brought fresh new 2015 Woojun from Ssanggae tea group and it was simply unforgettable. We thank her dearly. We also tasted our monk Jidam tea of this year. I definitely like this year's tea. Also Dr. Lee brought frozen lotus flower from Korea. It was prepared by putting fresh 2015 first spring pick green tea inside the lotus petals and letting it bloom by pouring hot water. Usually lotus flower tea is prepared by using cold water; but since it was mixed with green tea, we used hot water. The combination of lotus blossom and green tea was very very delicious. Thank you all for bringing tasty teas for our May meeting. 2015 teas are here!  For our June Tea Meeting, we will be meeting at Robert's house on Friday June 19th, 7pm.  If you are coming, please let me know as soon as possible.  I will forward you his address.  Also, you are welcome to bring desserts or side dishes.  See you in June.

2015 fresh green is ready!

Dear Tea Friends

Despite the snow that just came down on Saturday.  The spring is here!  In fact spring came early in Korea this year and this year's fresh green tea is ready for purchase.  Dr Lee will be traveling to Korea to make his annual tea purchase in April.  Therefore in April, we are meeting on April 17th, Friday so we will have a chance to purchase the earliest pickings!!!  If you wish to purchase this year's green, please come to our next tea meeting and buy them before they are all gone!  The price will probably be similar to last year, but I will keep you posted.

February Tea Meeting at T-Drunk

We had a wonderful tea meeting at t-drunk. I had the most delicious rock tea and white tea in a long time. If you are in the city, you should definitely stop by for a drink. Thanks Shunan for your wonderful teas.  We will be meeting at Korean Language Center for our March meeting on March 27th, Friday 7pm.  See you then.

January Tea Meeting

We had a wonderful January Tea Meeting at Korean Language Center.  We also had a chance to share Rita's birthday cake.  Happy Birthday Rita.  Korean Language Center does many wonderful things; one of them is to give out scholarships to students who are studying to be Korean Language Teachers in America.  The scholarship has been very resourceful since many schools in NY and NJ have since adopted Korean as the primary second language to be taught in schools.  Especially in Harlem there are group of charter schools that only have Korean as the available second language for their students.  The schools have gained fame because they are producing ivy league college bounds students among under privileged students in Harlem.

February tea meeting will take place at Korean Language Center on Friday, February 27th, 7pm.  See you then and stay warm in the mean time with a cup of hot tea!

Dear Tea Friends

For December Tea Meeting, we had a wonderful vegetarian dinner get together.  It was delicious and it was a lot of food.  It was a small restaurant and there were twenty two of us so we basically took over the restaurant.  I thank Joe for organizing the dinner meeting.  And I would like to thank Dr. Lee for offering Korean Language Center every month for our tea gathering.

The restaurant was run by a Hari Christina group and we had a tour of the temple.

November Tea Meeting

Dear Tea Friends

We had a wonderful November Tea Meeting.  We enjoyed the cool, calming, meditative effects of fresh Korean green teas.  And then we enjoyed heart warming,sweat causing 35 years old fermented pureh tea from Yunnan China.  Joe made tea.  And his teas were delicious.
